| Sub-Soil Investigation |
| The foundation or footing is the base of a structure. It is placed on such a level of the soil which can bear the entire load of the constructed structure and other added forces such as horizontal forces due to wind or earth quake. So, appraisal of soil condition is the pre-requisite requirement of a structural design and that can only be achieved through sub-soil investigation. Housing and Building Research Institute is conducting the sub-soil investigation with reputation for about thirty years. It has modest equipments and laboratory facilities to collect soil samples up to 200 feet from the ground level and to conduct the following tests most precisely and efficiently in a reasonable costs. |
